Beaches

The south coast is only a 40-minute scenic drive away, with beautiful beaches and towns including Branscombe, Beer. Seaton and Sidmouth.  You can also enjoy the estuary from Topsham along the coast to Exmouth.

On the north coast, you can visit the famous beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde, Puttsborough and Lynton, and Lynmouth with the famous valley of the rocks walk.

Moors

Both Exmoor and Dartmoor are just a short drive away, with stunning scenery, perfect for a walk or picnic.  On Dartmoor, you can visit the famous tors, including Hay Tor and Tarr Steps on Exmoor.

Pretty Villages

Too many to mention, but our favourites include Ashburton (with summer food festival), Beer, Broadhembury (with nearby Hembury Hill Fort), Bickleigh (with Bickleigh Mill), Lynton and Lynmouth (with cliff railway), Appledore (with the famous Tarka Trail Sustrans cycle route), Dittisham and Buckfastleigh Abbey.

The closest town is Tiverton (3 miles away) with lots of independent shops and a pannier market with a food market every first Saturday of the month, and Market Fest which showcases local artists, crafters, makers, and traders, with over 35 stalls (held every month).

 

Attractions

We have lots of local attractions including the Bear Trail, Diggerland, National Trust properties (including Knighthayes and Killerton), Tiverton Castle and Museum, Bickleigh Castle, and the Corn Barn (weddings, music and theatre performances).
